Essex steam train was a plein air painting, started on sight and finished in studio. The hazy humid August day, the station was filled with families, this image shows the train loaded and ready to roll. The scene lent itself to a more contemporary representation. This painting was selected to exhibition in the 2010, 67th annual Connecticut Artist Exhibition at the Slater Museum in Norwich, CT.
